Time for another update I think! One of the most enjoyable non-family mehndis was held last night. After some yummy scrumptious food, the festivities began. A few songs sang by the women, young and old alongside the dholak, were followed by some 5 or 6 carefully choreographed dance routines. Not bad at all...even my cousin, who like me never participates in such activites joined in for once. I was impressed, alhamdulillah. Of course, Tmotmo & I were the shy spectators on the side. Though I did manage to sing as much as I knew, Tmoto...you need to learn some songs! The musical group was then set up on stage...a Bengali female artist...Kausar Habib I believe...with her musicians. Nice voice, cute songs, lol @ the ULTRA sad one towards the end during which the bride was meant to cry, lol. HELLO, dulhan's usually sob at the rukhsati, not the mehndi :P She didn't by the way. Au contraire! Soon it was 11:30ish...music ended...time to go home. Previously thumping head thumping even harder after all the shaur sharaba, cup of tea when we reached home didn't help, just kept me up while I was desperately trying to sleep! Khair, was fun. Shame that there was not a hint of actual henna anywhere.
