A Lovely Pair
Some time ago, perhaps around the time when I first fell in love with poppies I came across a website and specifically this photograph: http://www.organiclightphoto.com/gallery/enlarged.asp?num=2&cat=Wind
It's one of the prettiest photographs I've seen and so I was prompted to buy it. I had it mounted and it's now sitting wrapped up waiting for it's new home. May Allah swt bring that day soon, ameen. And so began, I believe, my love of poppies. Or what I thought was my love of poppies. On the way home yesterday, my first day back at work after a short break, I drove along my usual route through Ripley. Driving uphill along the narrow bendy road, just as I took the last turn, I saw deep orange. What did Allah swt create that made me take a sharp breath and brought tears to my eyes? I drove closer and saw my first ever poppy field. An absolutely spectacular zillion-SubhanAllah-deserving view of a field of deep orange to bright red poppies. Have you ever seen a poppy field? I pray that you do, ameen.
