An old urdu proverb was related to me earlier today: Jhori hi jaanta hai heeray ki qadar
Lit: Only a jeweller recognises the value of a diamond.
This princess cut heera,
Set within precious glints of nature's malleable minerals,
Sits dressed in sparkly occlusions.
Open your indifferent eyes,
To view one, two, perhaps a few.
Look deeper, delve closer,
Feel the succussions of her tests and trials,
Embedded within sweet drops of honey,
Crystallised through life-dried emotion.
And so shall nature's crevices be seen.
Ya Allah she requests,
Let the light of your essence melt these crystals,
Release the sweetness of her nectar,
Bring to life her happiness,
Trust her to glisten amongst pink stars,
Way up amongst the distant skies,
Besides her jeweller destined.
Ameen.
