If you met a soul that glowed in darkness,
Whilst held behind barriers of pain so razored
They carelessly tear at anyone rushing past.
And yet within the seed of her broken heart,
Lay a thought to fly, all fluffy and pink,
A simple desire that she will be loved,
At the centre of all that there is,
When she breaths in and out.
Would you walk with her and let her free,
Follow and lead her through the paths of mystery,
Learn from her and teach her that which is truly halal and haram,
Respect her shade just as she lets yours?
Some may wish to match ideas as one,
Thoughts shadowing all, imprinted, embossed.
But I rather have a square in a sphere,
Touching at the corners of life that you and I hold most dear.
Dreams in a vessel spun from a single golden honey thread,
Encompassing differences, names, prayers from each others eyes
Within or without a frame of culture, the religion’s door
Or perhaps the other way round.
Lives are spent and lost all around us;
Have we walk half lived, half empty or happy for too long,
Armored against injustices, this life will not explain,
With a belief inside you that I wish not cross
Merely fluff a little, here and there,
Maybe clear a little dusty, which may have settled unnoticed in some
corners of contentment
And for me to know slowly what I need to learn from you
With a spirit opened to let fresh light in,
From those eyes warm and rich, darkened orange and spice.
So without fears, doubts echoing from crevasses deep inside
Gather the music in a gaze and light in your voice
To sing, show the way to fulfillment from this moment on.
Crumble away tiring weeds and swim submerged beneath rose-petaled puddles,
Lest I may lift you up and claim you as mine from the Angels standing all around.
