Today is the 2nd of Rajab

Rajab, the following Sha'ban and the month of Ramadan are the greatest months in the year.

There is a hadith that mentions that the month of Rajab is the month of Allah (swt), Sha'ban is the month of the Prophet (saw), and the month of Ramadan is the month of the Muslim ummah.

Imam Musa Al Kazim (as) said: "Rajab is a great month, during which Allah (swt) multiplies the rewards of good deeds and omits the sins."

Imam Jafar-Sadiq (A.S) said that Rasulullah(peace be upon him)said "This month of Rajab is the month of Asthaghfar (forgiveness) for my Ummah. Thus ask for Allah(swt)'s forgiveness for our sins in this Mubarak month. Allah is Most Forgiving and Most Merciful. And the other name for Rajab is Asabb because much of Allah's Rehmah (Mercy) on the Ummah is poured down in this beautiful month. One should recite Astaghfirullah as much as possible."

Qays ibn 'Abbaad said, "The tenth of Rajab is the day that Allah blots out or confirms what He pleases." [a reference to Quran, 13:39][Related by Ibn Jareer]Isra and Miraj is also said to have occurred in the month of Rajab.
